Public sector glazing – Cantifix has it covered

With low budgets and funding cuts, public sector construction faces a challenge in creating inspirational, iconic buildings. Glazing plays a huge part in both the aesthetic appeal and carbon efficiency of a building, so choosing the right supplier is crucial.

Cantifix Direct – custom-made glazing online
Created to extend the geographical reach and financial accessibility of the range, Cantifix Direct (www.cantifixdirect.co.uk) is an online service which sells a selection of glass doors, windows, roofs and floors. The products are carefully chosen to compliment the architectural and structural glazing possibilities available from Cantifix, and are available supply-only. Using this service, it is possible for public sector clients across the country to use these top-quality products in their schemes, whilst keeping costs to a minimum.

Cantifix recognises that some public sector projects can be very complex, and require meticulous attention to detail; and this is where the expertise of recently acquired Interwest (www.interwestltd.co.uk) is most valuable. Interwest has unparalleled experience in educational and public sector projects, and is well-known in the South West for delivering on time and on budget. The joining of the companies increases the geographical coverage of Cantifix across the South West and South Wales, and has already led to a number of enquiries for mix-scheme packages that contain elements of glazed curtain walling, together with more complicated glass elements.

Floorglaze – the world’s largest fire-rated glass floor
Cantifix has recently introduced FloorGlaze™, a range of fire-rated glass floors. Regulations stipulate that all institutional buildings, shopping centres, and schools with floor areas greater than 800m2 must have fire-rated flooring, and FloorGlaze™ fits the bill perfectly. Fully tested and certified to EN standards, FloorGlaze™ is available with fire ratings of either 30 minutes (F30), or 60 minutes (F60) insulation and integrity. The range can be used in schools, libraries, hotels, sports centres and arenas, offices, museums, hospitals, private homes and anywhere else imaginable. Cantifix has engineered FloorGlaze™ to achieve a U value of 1.1 W/m2/K, complying with new Part L regulations and giving brilliant thermal performance. It also has an amazing acoustic performance of 50 Db (Rw), ideal for stopping the transfer of noise between floors. The FloorGlaze™ range is available for both installation and supply-only.
